Michael practised with a firm in Kitchener for a short period of time doing litigation. He then joined Coulter Osborne, as a partner in 1970 in Kitchener. When Mr. Justice Osborne was appointed a Justice of the Supreme Court of Ontario in 1978 Michael carried on the practice of law doing litigation for many insurance companies. Throughout the years and up to the present, Michael represented numerous insurance companies. At the present time, he is actively involved with insurance defence work. Michael received his Queen’s Counsel in 1978. He is certified as a specialist in civil litigation. Michael has done numerous trials over the years with jury and non-jury in various courts in Ontario. Michael has appeared in all levels of Court and has participated in numerous mediations representing client’s interests.
He continually keeps himself updated in new developments in Insurance Law. He attends lectures in his areas of practice and retains his specialty in civil litigation. He attends conferences such as Tricks of the Trade by the Advocates Society and the Oatley McLeish two day seminar on Personal Injury claims.

Education & ExperienceMichael graduated from Western University in 1963 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He entered law school at Western University. Michael articled in Kitchener in 1966 to 1967 for a litigation firm. During his articles, he did a substantial number of trials in what is now known as Small Claims Court. Michael attended the Bar Admission Course in Toronto from 1967 to 1968 and received his LL.B. in the spring of 1968.
