David L. Brown

David Brown comes to Cohen Highley after many years as a sole practitioner specializing in Business Law. He has notable expertise acting for dentists, physicians and other professionals in Ontario and their professional corporations.  He also serves as counsel to the owner/entrepreneur of small and medium sized businesses.

David received a BSc. from Western University in 1975 (Dean’s Honours List). He attended law school at Western, receiving his LL. B. in 1978 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1980.  David has resided in London since that time.

David has a lengthy history of volunteering his time in the London community, having served as President and as a director of the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada from 1986-2001.  He is a former Trustee of the Middlesex Law Association, a former member of the Heritage Subcommittee for the City of London and a former director of Original Kids Theatre.

Currently, David is a director and the Secretary of Merrymount Children’s Centre. Merrymount’s vision is to provide a strong, inclusive, and safe community for children and families going through difficult times, where access to support is timely and effective. David joined the board of directors of Merrymount Children’s Centre in August, 2020.

David and his wife, Cheryl, live in Wortley Village. They have two daughters and relish the time that they are able to spend with their children and grandchildren. In his free time, David enjoys hockey, golf, reading and walking.
