About

Tyler practises in the corporate/commercial, real estate and estate planning department. His real estate practice includes both residential and commercial real estate transactions with experience in multi-residential purchases and sales including apartment buildings, commercial plazas and mobile home parks. He also has experience in negotiating commercial leases for both landlords and tenants. His estate practice focuses on estate planning and administration including the use of multiple wills as a tool to reduce estate administration tax. He has substantial experience in developing estate plans for individuals with disabled children and/or other dependents. Tyler’s corporate practice includes the incorporation of provincial and federal corporations, amalgamations, share freezes, and asset and share purchases and sales. The breadth of Tyler’s practice allows him to offer solutions to clients that combine corporate, real estate and estate planning advice making him ideally suited to be a trusted advisor for small and medium sized business owners.

Tyler was called to the bar in 2007 and is a member of the firm’s corporate/commercial, real estate and estate planning department. Tyler is currently managing Cohen Highley’s Kitchener-Waterloo satellite office located at 55 King St. W., suite 801, Kitchener, Ontario, N2G 4W1.

Tyler was born in Ottawa and raised in Uxbridge, Ontario, prior to attending Western University in 1999. While at Western University Faculty of Law, Tyler worked as the Director of Sport Solution, a free legal clinic for Canadian Amateur Athletes.

Tyler is a frequent speaker at seminars for first time home buyers, financial advisors, realtors and estate trustees.

Education & Experience

 In 2005, he graduated from the Richard Ivey School of Business with an Honours of Business Administration, with distinction, and in 2006 he obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) with a concentration in tax law.
