Emily Van Eerd

Emily is a Licensed Paralegal in the firm’s Multi-Residential Housing group. She is passionate about assisting Cohen Highley’s clients successfully navigate the Landlord and Tenant Board. Emily feels most fulfilled when she achieves results that benefit the client and their properties for years to come.

Emily decided to become a Paralegal so that she could advocate for those in her community seeking access to justice. Emily excels in mediating and resolving matters before the LTB because of her ability to construct innovative and effective solutions that meet the needs of her clients.

Emily graduated from Western University with a Double Major in Criminology and Women’s Studies. She then enrolled in a Post-Graduate Certificate Program at Fanshawe College in Paralegal Studies, where she was the Class President of the Fanshawe Paralegal Student Association. Emily proudly obtained her Paralegal License from the Law Society of Ontario in 2019.

Outside of the office Emily is a Professor at Fanshawe College instructing Landlord and Tenant Law. She is passionate educating and mentoring future Paralegals and aims to inspire the next generation of potential LTB Practitioners.

Outside of her career, Emily enjoys reading, dancing, and spending time with her family and friends.
