Position Overview:

In this role, you will join a team of three support staff and play a key role in supporting a Senior Partner in our Personal Injury Department. This is a hybrid role with in-office as well as work from home days. This position is open to be based out of London, Kitchener, Strathroy, or Windsor.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a litigation assistant role – personal injury experience not required, but considered an asset
  • Exceptional organizational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to excellent client service
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite with emphasis on Outlook
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail

What you can expect in this position:

  • Notice letters to TORT and SABS on file openings
  • Medical requests on file openings and as needed
  • Arranging and scheduling examinations for discovery and mediations
  • Scheduling preparation appointments with clients for examinations for discovery, mediations and LAT case conferences and hearings, etc.
  • Updating production requests as needed
  • Booking client prep appts for pre-trials and trial
  • Booking witnesses for trial, LAT hearings
  • Assisting with calendar management, file organization, submitting invoices and client phone calls
  • File organization including labelling all documents and emails
  • Issuing claims and seeing to service
  • Closing files

Cohen Highley is currently seeking a professional and friendly full-time receptionist to join our Kitchener office. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our clients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support. 

At Cohen Highley LLP, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional service and creating a welcoming environment for our clients and team members. We’re currently seeking a friendly and organized part time Receptionist to join our team and be the first point of contact for our clients.

  • This is an in-person position

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome visitors in a professional manner
  • Answer incoming phone calls and direct them accordingly
  • Coordinate use of boardrooms
  • Ensure the reception area is kept well-maintained
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of client information 

The successful candidate will be mainly responsible for the reception area; however they will occasionally provide coverage for other administrative tasks as needed. Training will be provided. 

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a receptionist role preferred
  • Experience in a professional services environment such as a law firm not required, but considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive and engaging attitude
  • Organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize
  • Possesses the initiative to take on tasks as needed
  • Ability to multi-task
