Frank
was an icon in the London legal community and was instrumental in the birth and
growth of the practice of insolvency law in Southwestern Ontario. He had a
well-earned reputation of firmness, fairness, and honesty – values he instilled
in the firm while managing it through thick and thin. Those who were close to
Frank knew his caring soul – and we are all better people for it.

Frank
was born in the United Kingdom and immigrated to Ontario in the late 1960s
after spending time in the Merchant Marine. By then, he had circumnavigated the
globe, travelling from Liverpool to Canada, Australia, North Africa, and then
back to Liverpool. It was while visiting Montreal that he decided to make
Canada his home.

His
first career was as a tool and die maker (following in his father’s footsteps).
He then held his commercial pilot’s licence for a time and ultimately attended
at the University of Windsor to obtain his law degree. Soon thereafter, he
founded the litigation department at Harrison Elwood (now Harrison Pensa) and
came to join our firm in 1990. From that time until his retirement from the
partnership, he played a pivotal role in the success and continued growth of
the firm.

We
extend our most sincere sympathies to Frank’s family, including his rock,
Paula.

Frank’s
humour, wit and knowledge will be sorely missed by the firm. We have lost a
colleague, a mentor and a friend.
