About
Faisal practices in the corporate/commercial and business law department of our Kitchener office. His practice includes advising on business formation (federal, provincial, NFPs or professional), minute book maintenance, sale and purchase of businesses (assets/shares + growth/exit), corporate tax planning & reorganizations, corporate divorces (including shareholder dispute management), joint ventures, debt financing, franchising, drafting commercial, consumer and services contracts (including commercial leases, shareholder & partnership agreements and inter vivos trusts), extra-provincial registrations, amalgamations, dissolutions, continuance of corporations in ON and other jurisdictions, comprehensive legal audit, corporate governance, policy drafting and compliance.
He is a seasoned finance and corporate lawyer with over 19 years of international experience in deal structuring, project management, legal risk management, compliance, and board secretarial matters, covering emerging and developed markets.
Faisal is qualified in multiple jurisdictions including Ontario (Barrister, Solicitor and Notary Public), the UK (Barrister), and Pakistan (Advocate High Courts) and has a diversified career path, working as a senior Barrister in top tier private practice and in a variety of senior management in-house roles with financial institutions, ports and logistics enterprises, before joining Cohen Highley in 2021.
He is married with two children and his hobbies include globe-trotting, reading self-help books, and indulging in South Asian cooking.
Faisal is also fluent in Urdu and Hindi.
